What is Off The Record Magazine?

    Off The Record Magazine is an online magazine that features interviews and reviews focusing on new and underrated
talent in the music world. It also features various columns focusing on information for the aspiring musician and for fans
of the non-mainstream life.

So you only feature unsigned bands?

    No, we also feature bands that are signed to indie record companies.

How do I get my band featured?

    You will need to contact us. Go to the Information page for contact info. (Basically, email editor@offtherecordmag.com and we'll give you all the info you need that we don't want to post on the website.)

Will you link my band's/company's website?

    Yes, we will link band and relevant company sites. See the Affiliates page.

Can I write an article for Off The Record?

    Yes, we accept articles (reviews and columns only). We are also constantly looking for new writers and contributors. Contact us for information.

Can I put an Off The Record article on my website/fansite?

    Yes, but you must:
  • Tell us where you're putting the article (with a link).
  • You must link to our page and have our copyright clearly displayed on the same page as the article.

Do I have to pay anything for an interview or review?

    No, there is no need for money, we are a free service: we do it because we love music. All it might cost you is a copy of your album, should you request a review of it, because we don't send submissions back.
